Pink Slip

What is a pink slip?

A pink slip is a road worthiness or safety inspection report for registered vehicles that is valid for 42 days from the date of issue.

Since 1 July 2008, an e safety check has replaced the traditional pink slip paper-based inspection scheme and S&G Automotive Repairs now transmits the pink slip online to the RTA saving you time and frustration.

By transmitting the safety check results electronically to the RTA, you can renew your registration online with myRego or over the phone rather than going into the RTA offices

Do I need a car pink slip?

All vehicles that are more than five years old will require a pink slip / esafety check as a condition of registration renewal. Your registration renewal notice will advise you if your vehicle needs an inspection which will take between 15-20 minutes to complete.
Pink slips are required for petrol cars, diesel cars and natural gas cars and an lpg pink slip is required for cars fitted with LPG.
